Italy, a European country with a long Mediterranean coastline, has left a powerful mark on Western culture and cuisine. Its capital, Rome, is home to the Vatican as well as landmark art and ancient ruins. Other major cities include Florence, with Renaissance masterpieces such as Michelangelo’s "David" and Brunelleschi's Duomo; Venice, the city of canals; and Milan, Italy’s fashion capital.
Check in, head towards Michelanelos Campidoglio where you can look out over the Roman Forum and ancient Rome. Take a tour of the Colosseum. Head 143 miles North of Rome into Siena (the second largest city of Tuscany). Once you arrive in Siena, check in. The first place to visit will be the Piazza del Campo, which is the main plaza with various sites. Visit the Museo Civico and the Torre del Mangia. This is a bit of a climb to the top but it will give a breath-taking view of the city below. After this walk over to the Duomo and spend a few hours visiting the surrounding sites. Head to Florence (its only 21 miles). Visit Uffizi and then Museo dell’Opera del Duomo (before seeing the Duomo). Adventure to the top of the Duomo to get great views of Florence. After capturing the view of the city, one can visit Attistero San Giovanni and the Campanile di Giotto.
